My fondness for radios, tape recorders, guitars, synthesizers and all things audio, began at an early age. In the late 70's, I was fortunate to be able to study in the Music, Broadcast Engineering, and Theater departments at SFSU through the Center for Experimental & Interdisciplinary Art. In the early 80's, as a founding member of the San Francisco based performance art group “SoneZone” I explored the power of sound and imagery to blur the border between dream and reality.Crafting stirring soundtracks for live performance, film, video, and installations has been a lifelong passion.
Joining the staff of the San Francisco Production Group in the mid 80’s, as Sound Designer and Audio Post supervisor, was an opportunity to work with some of the bay area’s most creative media talent.Located in the bustling SOMA district of San Francisco, the facility continuosly evolved over the years to meet the growing demand for high quality media content. We were one of the first studios in Northern California to adopt non-linear editing and digital audio post production… back when those were new concepts!Changes in the industry in the late 90’s, brought SFPG, like so many other large facilities of the time, to a close.Sirius Sound emerged in the former SFPG studios on Bryant street.
For the next two decades, I surrounded myself with other talented sound designers and composers, and together we were constantly expanding our abilities to meet the needs of our clients. Every project has been a unique opportunity to stretch the boundaries and improve on what's been done before. We've worked on projects for: Sony, Google, Yahoo, Cisco, Symantec, Sybase, HP, Salesforce, Workday... and, well, a ridiculously long list that includes not only big tech, but smaller independent agencies, filmmakers, artists, and non-profits.
Through the years, my focus has been on providing the highest possible quality in the most creative, efficient and cost effective manner. With that in mind, I recently decided to make a change. After several decades in San Francisco, my wife and I have re-located to the beautiful Rogue Valley in southern Oregon. I'm now operating in a new studio with the same great gear, collection of sound resources and wealth of experience.
In addition to Sound Design, Music, and Mixing, along the way, I’ve had the opportunity to serve as VO talent on many projects and I’d appreciate the opportunity to audition for you.I invite you to check out my demos on voices.com or contact me directly.
